Michael Lewis and Cllr Mark Pattenden support a plan to reduce traffic speed in Blanmerle Road

There was a huge response to the recent survey carried out by the Liberal Democrat team on traffic speeds and car use in Blanmerle Road.

Local Lib Dem councillor Mark Pattenden (Eltham South) commented that "the response was terrific and certainly shows that residents are concerned about the speed of cars in the local area."

"90% of the local residents who responded said that they were concerned about traffic speeding along Blanmerle Road," added Cllr Pattenden.

Lib Dem campaigner and local resident Michael Lewis said that the survey showed overwhelming support for making Blanmerle Road a 20mph zone. "Almost 80% of those who replied said that they thought a 20mph speed limit for the road would be appropriate," explained Michael Lewis.

"We will be writing to Greenwich Council's highways department to urge them to introduce a 20mph zone along Blanmerle Road as soon as possible."
