Bring playing fields back into use say Lib Dems

11.33.03pm UTC (GMT +0000) Sun 9th Apr 2006

Middle Park & Sutcliffe Lib Dem candidate Paul Webbewood has called on Greenwich Council to buy the Willow Playing Field in Weigall Road, Lee and make it available for the whole community.

"The playing field has been disused for many years" said Paul Webbewood. "Buying it for the public and bringing it back into use would benefit the whole community in Lee. It could replace some of the pitches lost in Sutcliffe Park and provide additional recreational space for the whole area."

"Playing fields should be well-maintained and used regularly, not locked up and disused," Paul concluded.
